Hours: 35 hours per week, core hours with flexible start and finish times, Monday to Friday. Term Time Only including INSET and occasional training days, plus 1 week during school holidays, namely 37 weeks per year. You will accrue 4 weeks annual leave which must be taken during holiday periods (salaried for 41 weeks and paid in 12 monthly instalments).

Salary: £17,950 - £20,439 (prorated), dependent upon experience.

Contract: Permanent - September 2021 start.

We are seeking an experienced Design and Technology Technician to join the Design and Technology Department at St George’s College. The DT Technician will provide a wide range of practical, technical and administrative support to enable the efficient running of the department.

The successful candidate will be flexible and well organised, able to demonstrate initiative and reliability, learn quickly and work effectively under pressure. The following are essential skills, most likely gained through experience in a similar role:

• Relevant and up to date experience in Design Technology/Resistant Materials Technician work

• Previous experience working with power machinery such as band saws, table saws, lathes,

drills and routers in a commercial or educational setting

• Experience in CAD/CAM (2D design & OnShape – 3D printers & laser cutter) and strong ICT skills.

This role will be varied and involve interaction with staff and students with a pivotal role to play in the success of the Department. Candidates should be energetic, excellent team players, keen to develop, and able to work to deadlines whilst committed to contributing to the overall ethos and aims of the School.
