Enjoying an enviable location in the beautiful City of Ripon, close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Outwood Academy Ripon is a small school with some big achievements. We take pride in our tradition of serving the community of Ripon, and since joining the nationally renowned Outwood Grange Academies Trust in 2010 have gone from strength to strength.
In our January 2016 Ofsted inspection, we were judged to be Outstanding in all four major categories, and we are committed to offering young people the education and opportunities to fulfil their potential, whether vocational, practical, creative or academic.80% of our students achieve at least 5 A*-C grades at GCSE, with an amazing 91% passing Maths at grade C or above and 64% at Grade B or better. What’s more, 98.5% of students achieve their expected level of progress in the subject, with 65% exceeding it. Our results are similarly spectacular in English, where 81% of students achieve an A*-C grade and 83% meet their expected level of progress.
This is testament to the success of our innovative vertical curriculum, centring on a two-year Key Stage 3 and a three-year Key Stage 4. Aimed at personalising learning, the curriculum empowers the most able and ambitious students to pursue fast-track opportunities and intensive workshops whilst allowing their peers the time they need to master their subjects and maximise their results at KS4.With your talent taking us to the next level, we will continue to put students at the centre of everything we do – giving them the best possible life chances and creating a lifelong love of learning.
